Just Energy – Through worker education and analysis; community education, organizing, and engagement; policy advocacy; Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EE/RE) demonstration projects; and capital generation, the Hijra House Just Energy Initiative aims to increase the engagement of ethnic-minority workforce populations, minority entrepreneurs, and small business investors, in EE/RE opportunities as our nation and globe transitions from fossil-fuel to 100% renewable energy.
Hijra House’s weekly Efficient and Renewable group (ENRg) aims to team with local, state, and regional partners. ENRg’s goal is to provide analytical and hands-on education to unemployed and underemployed Mississippians, coastal residents, electricians, and aspiring entrepreneurs. Ultimately, ENRg aims to heighten local awareness of energy efficiency and renewable energy (EER/RE) planning and engagement; increase the number of skilled, local solar panel installers; and reduce household energy costs of South Mississippi residents.
